A fantastic tour by Graham - he was so knowledgeable and his attention to detail was impressive. It was full of interesting and quirky facts and the treasure hunt for... read more the kids was a nice touch, which our 9 year old in particular enjoyed. As locals we were amazed by how many historical facts we didn't know and astounded by how much history there is on our doorstep.
The circular tour was enhanced by Graham's use of a tablet to show us photos and videos of places and buildings in their heyday.
We are a family of four (children aged 9 and 13) plus a dog and we all really enjoyed our afternoon which the drizzly weather didn't spoil. We'll certainly try one of his other tours soon.
We would definitely recommend English Riviera Walking Tours for people of any age - tourists and locals alike.
We did the "Best of Babbacombe" tour and found Graham to be really upbeat and personable, full of really engaging and informative stories which gave us a more in-depth insight... read more into some of the amazing history and places of interest. The tour lasted for nearly 3 hours and Graham's passion made it fly by (with the help of a delicious authentic ice-cream stop along the way).
My wife and I chose to do the Beauty of the Bay walk with Graham. It was a great introduction to the Bay. It is hilly in some places but... read more certainly manageable for most. The views were amazing but more importantly, Graham was fantastic. Highly knowledgeable including Agatha Christie and the second world war. It was so interesting that straight after the walk, we went to Torquay museum.
At £10 per person, it is great value for money and Graham also offers various other walks.
I cannot recommend Graham highly enough. He was a complete professional but also relaxed. My wife and I learnt a lot and really did discover the beauty of the Bay with some incredible views. It was worth every single penny!
Thank you Graham and five stars!
As every reviewer has written Graham is an outstanding guide. My wife and I took the Agatha Christie tour on Sept 23rd and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although we have read... read more a few of her novels the majority of our knowledge of her works comes from TV and film. However, as a result of Graham's tour we have both promised to rectify that. We found Graham to be extremely informative but also presented the information as if we were friends out for an afternoon walk in a very relaxed, small group. Graham took us around a number of locations which we had already seen during out stay but had no idea what they actually were which was an added bonus for us. At the end of the tour he was also kind enough to spend some time with us discussing the best places to eat and visit for the remainder of our stay. Therefore, I would recommend Graham as being an essential part of anyone's stay in Torquay and will be going on another tour with him when we return. His tour was definitely a highlight of our stay. Thank you!!
Loved the walking tour. I recommend it for any Agatha Christie fan. I thought I knew so much about her already but I did not. :) Graham was so well... read more informed and full of stories about Agatha’s life and about the history of Torquay in general.
We stayed at the Cary Arms inland they advertised a guided walk with Graham. Graham was lovely from the minute we met him and very knowledgeable about the area. Pointed... read more some great places to visit and eat while we were here and we learnt a lot. It was very relaxed and at our pace. We loved this and would recommend anyone in the area contacts Graham and attend a walk with him. Thanks again Graham
We spent two nights in Babbacombe and did this walking tour on our first day -- but it was so good we booked a second tour for our final day.... read more The second one was the Agatha Christie themed tour and it was utterly fascinating - we learnt about every element of her life whilst seeing the beautiful sights of Torquay. The guide, Graham, was extremely friendly, informative and was full of stories that were the perfect balance of entertaining and informative. Highly recommended, whatever your fitness level.
We had an amazing time walking around Torquay learning about the interesting life of Agatha Christie while seeing the sites. A big thank you to Graham for making our time... read more in Torquay so great!
